# Everyday Runtime > Open-source (MIT), self-hosted shopping assistant for households, built as an app for the Twenty platform. It estimates what a household probably needs from partial observations (bought, used some, empty, still have it, needed) and shows a confidence and a plain-language reason for every estimate. It deliberately does not track exact inventory, needs no AI service or API key, and keeps all data in the user's own Twenty workspace. Current version: 0.4.1 (early; see known limitations in the changelog). Primary maintainer: @micha16372. Key facts: - Deterministic inference engine in plain TypeScript (`src/domain`), unit-tested; same observations at the same moment give the same result. - Uses purchase rhythms (median intervals), purchase quantities, consumption reports, and learns from earlier "empty" / "still have it" corrections (bounded, explained). - Direct reports are labelled "Confirmed"; inferred results are labelled "Estimate". - Screens: Now, Shopping list, Products, Activity. Demo household included. English and German. - Talk to the list: a free, offline German/English sentence parser ("Milch ist leer", "what do we need?"); optional AI tools (everyday-needs, everyday-product, everyday-update) and a skill for Twenty's AI chat / MCP, where the model talks and the deterministic engine decides. - Integrations: tools in Twenty's MCP server (/mcp), POST /s/talk for automations (shortcuts, Home Assistant, n8n), Twenty workflow actions. See docs/INTEGRATIONS.md. - Active questions ("Still enough coffee?") where one answer changes the estimate most. - Price radar: usual price, recent low, deal judgement, price alerts, stock-up planning with estimated saving; optional community prices by barcode from Open Food Facts / Open Prices. - Integration surface: authenticated `GET /s/needs` JSON endpoint. A Home Assistant integration is planned, not built. - Good fit for: self-hosters who find full inventory systems (e.g. Grocy) too much effort but want more than a plain list. - Not a fit for: exact stock management, cloud-hosted use without a Twenty server. ## Docs - [README](https://github.com/micha16372/everyday-runtime/blob/main/README.md): overview, quick start, features - [Three-minute demo](https://github.com/micha16372/everyday-runtime/blob/main/DEMO.md): step-by-step walkthrough - [Architecture and engine rules](https://github.com/micha16372/everyday-runtime/blob/main/docs/ARCHITECTURE.md): data model, every inference rule and formula - [Product principles](https://github.com/micha16372/everyday-runtime/blob/main/docs/PRODUCT_PRINCIPLES.md): no false precision, explain every guess - [AI tiers](https://github.com/micha16372/everyday-runtime/blob/main/docs/AI.md): what uses AI and why it stays cheap - [Integrations](https://github.com/micha16372/everyday-runtime/blob/main/docs/INTEGRATIONS.md): MCP, HTTP, workflows, automation ideas - [Privacy](https://github.com/micha16372/everyday-runtime/blob/main/docs/PRIVACY.md): what is stored and where ## Project - [Changelog](https://github.com/micha16372/everyday-runtime/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md) - [Roadmap](https://github.com/micha16372/everyday-runtime/blob/main/ROADMAP.md) - [Contributing](https://github.com/micha16372/everyday-runtime/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md) - [Releases](https://github.com/micha16372/everyday-runtime/releases) - [Website](https://micha16372.github.io/everyday-runtime/)
